Most parents know about earaches, middle ear infections or otitis media.  Babies get them all too often and nothing seems to work.  These infections and the pain that results are most common in infants and toddlers who are still bottle fed.

As most parents have found antibiotics tend to be ineffective.  In fact the latest research shows that not only are antibiotics usually ineffective but chiropractic adjustments can be effective in treating them.

What causes ear infections?

  • the eustachian tubes that equalize pressure and allow drainage of middle ear into the back of the throat can become infected and swell up preventing drainage
  • in adults these tubes slant downward but in infants they are more horizontal making drainage difficult at times
  • babies fed bottles when they go to bed may have the milk collect near the tubes creating a perfect environment for bacteria to flourish

What can you do?

  • have your baby adjusted and DNFT is a gentle adjustment
  • do not feed you baby laying down
